Created from the consulting teams within the parent organization, Best Practices, LLC, the GBC Management Team provides members quick access to current benchmarking and research material, networking opportunities, and best practice resources.
Christopher Bogan
Best Practices, LLC President and CEO
Christopher Bogan is a recognized expert and thought leader in the application of best practices for performance improvement. He has advised various Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Winners and other industry leading corporations. Mr. Bogan is a co-author of the highly acclaimed book, Benchmarking for Best Practices: Winning Through Innovative Adaptation, which has been hailed as "the new benchmark" for all those interested in benchmarking and best practice performance improvement. Mr. Bogan's first book, The Baldrige: What It Is, How it's Won, How To Use It to Improve Quality in Your Company, explores the quality systems of world-class companies. He is an honors graduate of the Harvard Business School and Amherst College. He sits on the boards of several corporations and is a Guest Lecturer at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. |

Gary Shaw
Vice President of Research and Advisory Services
Gary Shaw leads work in benchmarking and process across a number of industries including pharmaceuticals, health care, and financial services. He oversees the Business Excellence Board and the Global Benchmarking Council. For the past 10 years, Shaw has served as a consultant in the pharmaceutical and health care industries, as well as in other sectors for The Concours Group and Campbell Alliance Group. For 16 years prior to that, Shaw was a professor of business administration at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's Kenan Flagler Business School, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and the College of William and Mary’s Mason School of Business. Shaw holds a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia as well as a B.A. from SUNY at Buffalo. |

Anna Buhr
Manager, GBC Research Operations
Anna Buhr has contributed to numerous projects, developing benchmarking surveys, conducting interviews, writing benchmarking reports and creating marketing material. Projects that Ms. Buhr has worked on include benchmarking studies on recruitment and staffing in large global organizations, quality and process improvement integration, business development strategies and diagnostic and pharmaceutical partnerships. Ms. Buhr has served clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Best Practices, LLC, Ms. Buhr completed her studies of International Business in Germany and the U.S., graduating with a Masters of Business Administration degree from Pfeiffer University and Hochschule Harz, Germany.
Shelley Alfred-Watkins
Membership Services Manager
Shelley Alfred-Watkins lends enormous value to the Global Benchmarking Council team through her background in the manufacturing field, serving as a consultant. Previously, she worked in the communications field, where she served as a manager. At Best Practices, LLC, Ms. Alfred-Watkins is responsible for coordinating annual conferences, refining membership service offerings, driving growth of membership services and assisting clients with their research and benchmarking needs. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she majored in English and Creative Arts.
Kimberly Hardin
Research Associate
Kimberly Hardin brings publication and marketing experience to the GBC team. Prior to joining Best Practices, LLC, Ms. Hardin contributed to feature stories for UNCG Alumni Magazine and actively participated on the team responsible for redesigning the magazine in 2005. She also carried out marketing for the university’s Summer Repertory Theatre. At Best Practices, LLC, she is responsible for maintaining client relationships through marketing and membership sales, as well as contributing to research projects that cater to the client’s needs. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and a BA in economics. Ms. Hardin also holds a business journalism certificate from the Carolina Business News Initiative at UNC. |

David Guinn
GBC Member Services
David Guinn is responsible for the majority of our Global Benchmarking Council members and Database members. This includes ad hoc questions and requests, relationship management, account growth and training.
Mr. Guinn has served clients in the financial services, manufacturing, public sector, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, technology, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Best Practices, LLC, Mr. Guinn brings 10 years of experience in the banking industry and 11 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. With both industries he has extensive experience working with C-level clients. David is an honors graduate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania majoring in management.
Bridget Watson
Senior Account Executive
Bridget Watson is chiefly responsible for new client affiliation into the Global Benchmarking Council and works with clients across all industries and functions. Prior to joining Best Practices, LLC, she worked in the banking and transportation industries. Ms. Watson has a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business.
